Our vision is to channel investments which can build a prosperous Africa
For us, environment and social considerations are crucial during construction and operation phases and must therefore be addressed pro-actively in the development process. Therefore, our projects strictly adhere to national standards and international best practices outlined in Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) Environmental and Social Policy Statement, the Equator Principles, the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards, Guidance Notes, and Environmental Health and Safety Guidelines. Among others, these standards address labor conditions, pollution prevention, community health, fairness in land acquisition and involuntary resettlement, protection for indigenous peoples and biodiversity conservation.
Our projects are opportunities to support economic growth and well being for local communities. We emphasize training and employment of local labor. We support capacity building for local contractors to allow them take on and perform assignments at international standards. Furthermore, we aim to maximize sourcing of material from local suppliers. This provides a cost-effective and reliable source of goods as well as services for its operations while supporting local businesses to become successful independently. We work closely with Governments to identify initiatives that we can support that are part of its development plan on healthcare and education.
